How do MedStudy learning tools differ from similar products offered by other companies?
MedStudy exists to make learning medicine easier. Our Core learning tools are created by superb physician educators from residencies and teaching hospitals across the U.S. and are designed to propel you through your review—whether you’re in residency, preparing for the boards (initial cert or MOC), or maintaining competency.
Core learning tools have a clear, concise writing style that simplifies traditionally complex concepts, making it easier for you to digest and retain material much more easily and thoroughly than with other products.
Residency program directors and attendings report that residents who use MedStudy as a key component of their learning show deeper medical knowledge, and greater expertise in the evaluation and care of patients, with enhanced performance in morning reports, rounds, etc.
In short, the Core can strengthen clinical competence ratings in residency, while at the same time providing the very best preparation available for the boards.
Similarly, physicians in practice use the Core as a current and succinct review to quickly and easily get the key elements down.

About Continuing Medical Education (CME)
CME credits and MOC points are available on most products. For questions on earning and claiming, start here.
What is MedStudy's CME purpose?
MedStudy’s primary purpose is to provide bias-free, quality, educational activities that advance physician competency in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, as measured by successful preparation for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Board exams and by our physicians’ self-reported improvement in patient care, which occurs as a result of increased knowledge.
MedStudy offers CME credits on nearly all our resources, so you can “earn while you learn.” And we now offer ABIM MOC points and ABP MOC points on most products and courses.
For original purchasers who buy currently accredited products or courses directly from MedStudy, AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ are available free of charge.
MedStudy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
How can I earn CME credits with MedStudy?
You can claim MedStudy CME at no charge. This is available to original purchasers who buy currently accredited products or courses directly from MedStudy.
What Are the Best Products for CME?
Video Board Reviews are a great way to earn—stream video lectures from top MedStudy speakers with the convenience of watching whenever and wherever you choose. Earn MedStudy CME credits right from your phone or any mobile device.
Internal Medicine Video Board Review. See how many credits you can earn.
Pediatrics Video Board Review. See how many credits you can earn.
Need CME Credits Quickly?
If you need to claim CME quickly and want the flexibility of self-testing while earning CME credits online, answering Board-Style Q&As for Internal Medicine or Pediatrics is at the top of the list. You accrue CME credits and MOC points as you need them and will earn 1 credit for every 4 questions that you answer correctly.
With 12-month access to the qbank, you can earn a maximum of 100 points by going through just 400 of the 1,700+ questions for Internal Medicine or 2,000+ questions for Pediatrics.

If you need additional help claiming your MedStudy CME, you can reach our support team.
MedStudy CME is ACCME Accredited
MedStudy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. MedStudy designates the educational activities described on this website for their respective maximums of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
On each CME application, the user certifies how many credits s/he has earned (1 hour = 1 credit) up to the total AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ allowed for each product or course. The CME application, which includes an evaluation and posttest, is completed online. Once submitted, the CME certificate is immediately emailed to the customer.
Credits must be claimed before the product’s CME expiration date.
Where do I see how many CME credits/MOC points I have available to claim?
A record of your participation in MedStudy-sponsored CME activities is available online by logging into your myMedStudy account, or by calling our CME Department at 1-800-841-0547. MedStudy maintains records of all CME credits earned by each physician for at least 6 years.
How do I claim CME and MOC from MedStudy?
We have a video that walks you through the 6-step submission process.
You may claim CME and MOC up to the CME expiration date (see table below for dates).
MOC points should be claimed by the end of the calendar year to count for that year.
Participation in this CME activity will be reported, by MedStudy, to the ABIM or the ABP through the ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (if applicable).
What is a CME "posttest" and why must I take it?
For an activity to be certified to offer CME credit, the AMA (American Medical Association) requires the activity provide an assessment of the learner that measures achievement of the educational purpose and/or objective of the activity.
How is the date on the CME certificate determined?
A customer can claim CME anytime between the purchase date of the product and the CME expiration date of the product. The CME application date will default to the current date but can be changed. This date will be the one listed on the awarded CME certificate. We cannot future-date a CME certificate, or date them past the expiration date of the product.
Do I have to apply for all the CME credits that a product offers at once?
No, customers are free to “split” the CME credits for a particular product. Example: Customer purchased the newest Flashcard product and needs 25 CME credits this year and 25 next year. That customer can request to split the available credits (50). A separate application is required with each CME submission and all submissions must be received before the CME expiration date.
Purchasing Used MedStudy Products
Thinking about buying used MedStudy resources or selling the resources you currently have? Here are some answers to questions on used products that we often receive.
Can I legally make copies of sections of a Core or duplicate a blu-ray to give to a colleague?
No. Without the expressed written permission from MedStudy, you cannot legally copy this material except for making copies of the paper products for your own personal use (of material you have legally purchased). If you have a special situation in which you would like to make use of limited copies of specific MedStudy material (e.g., for a teaching situation), you can contact MedStudy to request permission to make copies, and we will try to accommodate such reasonable requests. Without such permission, any copying for sale or for distribution to others — even free distribution — is prohibited.
Can I buy a used MedStudy product?
You may occasionally find MedStudy products for sale by someone other than MedStudy, but a few words of caution are in order:
The opportunity to obtain CME credits is available only to the original individual purchaser of a product, bought directly from MedStudy. A product resold by another party, even if unused, does not qualify for CME credits. Many will advertise that their products come with CME, but this is not so. If CME credit is important to you, be sure to buy your MedStudy product directly from MedStudy. Learn more about MedStudy's CME program.
MedStudy of course cannot guarantee the quality of any product sold by another party. We’ve had reports of people buying used books that arrive in extremely worn condition, of new or used blu-rays or USBs that won’t function properly. MedStudy supports and guarantees the quality of products if they are purchased through us, but not if they are resold in used condition by someone else.
Unfortunately, a few unscrupulous sellers of MedStudy products are not selling original products at all but rather illegal copies of our products. These people violate federal copyright law because all content in the MedStudy material is original work that is the property of MedStudy and is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. MedStudy owns the exclusive right to control the reproduction, distribution and use of this content. This situation presents the unwary buyer not only the risk of extremely inferior quality but also potential legal liability since it is against federal copyright law to sell or buy such illegal copies. Penalties can range up to $250,000 and/or 5 years in jail. So when considering buying a used product, definitely make sure it is an original product and not a copy of any kind.
Note: MedStudy operates in good faith and appreciates the fact that our customers continue to be loyal and supportive of our efforts. When people attempt to sell illegal copies of our works, it hinders our efforts to keep products affordable for the vast majority of our customers. You can report anyone selling (or buying) illegal products to copyright@medstudy.com, providing as much information as you can about the infringer(s). Thank you.
