    Not needing to sleep, I could get so much more done! There's never enough time for all the things I would like to do :)

    I do all the typical Colorado outdoor activities: hiking, biking, running, skiing, etc. I have a cabin in the mountains where I try to spend as much time as possible. I have recently set-up two beehives in my backyard.

  • What’s your favorite book or book series?


    I love so many books! Favorite series include Harry Potter and Anne of Green Gables. Favorite books include The Sun Also Rises, The Storied Life of AJ Fikry, All the Light We Cannot See and The Book Thief. I've read some great books this year including Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, Goodbye Vitamin, How to Walk Away and Lilac Girls. I also love a good page-turning mystery.

    I make my own beauty products, my retirement plan is to have a stand at the farmer's market, and spinach is my absolute favorite food

    Running, cycling, gardening, and time with my family

    I was CFO and VP of Finance and Human Resources at the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners before joining MedStudy, I visited all 50 states and 7 other countries, and I grew up next to Graceland in Memphis and heard Elvis play his guitar by his pool.

    I earned a PhD in Information Science, I have a black belt in TaeKwonDo, andI'm learning to quilt



    If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?


    Flying. If you can fly you can escape traffic (for the most part), you never have to worry about falling, and can you imagine the view of the world you would have? Breathtaking.

    Don't ever let fear be the reason you don't pursue what you want to do

    Helping physicians obtain those important (and sometimes annoying) CME and MOC credits.

    Right now, it is the progress we've made in the way we communicate with our customers. From improved direct mail pieces to new, sleek transactional emails, our team is coming up with creative ideas constantly. It gets me excited just thinking about all the opportunities we have to continually improve what we do.

  • What is your favorite thing to do outside of your office?


    I love to travel throughout the United States and to other countries. I've been to 42 states and spent time in nine countries (not including the U.S.). I have many more places to go.



    Where is your happy place?


    At home, in the mountains, or at the beach hanging out with my husband, son, and dog. Preferably, I have chocolate.

     

  • What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?


    Not to get caught up in letting other people's concerns/problems hinder or interrupt what you're trying to do or who you want to be.



    Are you a cat or dog person and why?


    Dog person. I like companions that want to get up go do something fun and adventurous with me.

     

  • If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?


    Breathe underwater, because scuba diving is super fun, but it's a hassle to schlep all that equipment around, and you have to be super careful and all that. It'd be nice to just be able to swim with the fishes anytime I want.

    Piled on the couch with my dogs.

    I love cooking with fresh herbs from my garden. My kids and grandkids feel a great sense of accomplishment when they manage to beat me at Scrabble. I delight in exploring historic cities and museums.

    Walk on the beach

     

  • Are you a cat or dog person and why?


    Definitely a dog person. Both animals can be empathetic and intuitive to us humans but dogs are better at showing it. And I love how dogs seem to always have the best day ever and fully enjoy everyday moments.

    I get to create pretty things and bring ideas to life in visual ways.

    Working with and getting to know our outside contributors. They are a very diverse and interesting group



    What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?


    Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.

    I am taking French cooking lessons because I love French cuisine (particularly French onion soup, beef bourguignon, and macarons).  I have a degree in Latin and taught it for 9 years at a high school and 5 years at the local university. I have a black belt in Taekwondo.

     

  • If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?


    If I could have one superpower, I would want the force. Then I'd know the hours I've spent practicing weren't wasted.

    When I was a 19-year-old college student I was worried about choosing the wrong degree program. My stepmom told me, "Make a decision and follow it through. You can always change direction later, but at certain junctures, the most important thing is to choose and act."

    I attend Denver Comic Con every year dressed as Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, I have been scuba diving in 6 countries, and I sign up for Reddit Secret Santa every Christmas. I have received manatee socks for the past three years from three different people.

    I get dressed and go work in my super cool home office

    Take care of your health, it’s the best thing you own.

    Anything with aliens. I think they're probably just watching us like we watch an ant farm. There is so much about physics we don't understand, so I doubt we would be able to detect them. We haven't even mapped the bottom of the ocean yet.

    To remove pain, emotionally and physically. It keeps people sometimes from seeing how wonderful the world is and keeps them from being happy and at peace.

    I Geocache, fly fish, play guitar and sing every Sunday at church...wait that's 4 things. (Not all at the same time)

    Anywhere where there is sun, sand, water, and lots of rum (preferably out of a coconut with a tiny paper umbrella.) But I'm not picky; I'll gladly take rum in any form.

    I'm a licensed nail tech, so any and all things NAILS!!!

    Theatre! I direct, act & produce comedies around town!

    My Little Bookhouse, a great book set from my childhood! I still have it- a 12 volume set of wonderful old-timey stories! I also really enjoyed the Book of Joy!

    Never say anything uncomplimentary about another person's dog.

    I listen to a lot of metal, I love horror, and I’m a surrealist painter.

    I’d probably be a mind reader because I value openness and honesty and am also interested in psychology.

    One should not pry into the faults of others. Into things left done and undone by others. One should rather consider what by oneself is left done and undone.

    Hairdressers must be licensed by the state. Therefore, the government controls what we look like.

    I was in a barbershop chorus that won a medal at the international contest. I have 12 grandchildren. I once whistled the piccolo solo from the "Stars and Stripes Forever" for an audience that included the then-current POTUS (Bush 41).
