About Continuing Medical Education (CME)

What is MedStudy’s CME Purpose?

Lauren Buonaiuto

MedStudy’s primary purpose is to provide bias-free, quality, educational activities that advance physician competency in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, as measured by successful preparation for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Board exams and by our physicians’ self-reported improvement in patient care, which occurs as a result of increased knowledge.

MedStudy offers CME credits on nearly all our resources, so you can “earn while you learn.” And we now offer ABIM MOC points and ABP MOC points on most products and courses.

For original purchasers who buy currently accredited products or courses directly from MedStudy, AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ are available free of charge.

MedStudy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

How is the date on the CME certificate determined?

Leah Martinez
A customer can claim CME anytime between the purchase date of the product and the CME expiration date of the product. The CME application date will default to the current date but can be changed. This date will be the one listed on the awarded CME certificate. We cannot future-date a CME certificate, or date them past the expiration date of the product.

Do I have to apply for all the CME credits that a product offers at once?

Leah Martinez
No, customers are free to “split” the CME credits for a particular product. Example: Customer purchased the newest Flashcard product and needs 25 CME credits this year and 25 next year. That customer can request to split the available credits (50). A separate application is required with each CME submission and all submissions must be received before the CME expiration date.
