At MedStudy, we appreciate the trust you place in us when you choose to use our products or visit our websites, and we take that responsibility seriously. This Privacy Policy explains which information MedStudy Corporation (“MedStudy,” “we” or “us”) collects when you visit any of the websites we operate, including but not limited to, medstudy.com and my.medstudy.com, the MedStudy app or the MedStudy Media app. and use the products and services available on or through our websites (collectively, the “Site”) and applications. It also describes how we use the information we collect, with whom we share it, and how we safeguard your personal information. Additionally, this Privacy Policy describes the choices we offer you regarding our collection and use of such information.

 

MedStudy respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Site or applications, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, do not use the Site or applications.

 

 

Information We Collect – When you use the Site or applications, we may collect personal information from you, meaning information about you that can uniquely identify you. This information comes directly from you, and is often provided when you create an account, purchase a MedStudy product or service, or sign up for a study course or free trial on the Site, or if you otherwise choose to provide us with such information. The information collected includes but is not limited to your name, address, telephone number, MedStudy account password and email address. For purchases, we collect payment information and sometimes shipping information from you. Additionally, we collect information about you that may not uniquely identify you, such as general demographic or career stage information, if you choose to provide us with such information. We collect this information in various ways, including if you sign up for a mailing list or request information from us by filling in a form on the Site or application or a survey, register for an account on the Site, or purchase products or services on the Site.

 

In addition, when you visit the Site, we may collect certain information by automated means, using tracking tools such as cookies, web beacons or pixels, and other tracking technologies. A “cookie” is a small text file that websites send to a visitor’s computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify the visitor’s browser or store information or settings in the browser. Information We Share – MedStudy does not share, sell, trade, exchange or rent any of your personal information to or with any other entities except as described in this Privacy Policy. MedStudy does not sell your personal information to any third party.

 

We may disclose your personal information to contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business. Currently, MedStudy discloses your personal information as necessary to validate a credit card transaction and in our own marketing. Such third parties are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them. We may also disclose your personal information to: (i) comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request; (ii) enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements; and/or (iii) if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of MedStudy, our customers, or others.

 

We work with colleges, universities, residency programs, and other institutions to provide test preparation. Your institution may arrange for your participation in these programs and negotiate a special price or trial offer, or purchase (or subsidize) products or services on your behalf. You consent and agree that we may share the Personal Information and other information that you provide to us through your participation in these programs, including assessment and assignment scores, with the institution arranging for your access to these programs. As a condition of your use of this Website or MedStudy products or services via an Institutional Subscription license, you consent to the disclosure of your self-assessment exam performance results and usage of the products or services, to that institution.


Visiting the Site or application may set a remarketing cookie in your browser for an advertising network. These cookies allow the advertising network to display related advertisements on other websites.

 

We also reserve the right to disclose your personal information to a buyer or other transferee in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, sale, or other transfer of some or all of our assets. Should such a sale, merger, or transfer occur, we will use reasonable efforts to direct the transferee to use your personal information in a manner that is consistent with our Privacy Policy.

 

 

Your Choices – We offer you the following choices about which information we collect from you and how we communicate with you:

Accessing and Correcting Your Information – You can review and change your personal information by logging into your account on the Site and visiting your account profile page. You may also send us an email at support@medstudy.com  or call our support team at 1-800-841-0547 to request access to, correct, or delete (a request to delete your personal information will be honored only if required of us by applicable US federal or state law, or international law) any personal information that you have provided to us. Note that your email address is needed to access any free trial or purchased products. Requests for removal that meet MedStudy's criteria mentioned above will be completed within 30 days of the request. An exception to this is if you have made a purchase on our Site within the last six months (180 days). The information involved in your purchase will remain in a pending state until this time has passed in case a chargeback occurs. When that required time has elapsed, your erasure request will be finalized. 

 

 

Information Security – MedStudy implements security measures in an effort to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Please note that no electronic transmission of information can be entirely secure. We cannot guarantee that the security measures we have in place will never be defeated or fail, or that such measures will always be sufficient or effective.

 

 

Children Under the Age of 13 – The Site and applications are not directed to, and MedStudy does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from, children under the age of 13. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will delete that information. Changes to Our Policy – MedStudy reserves the right to update or change this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make a material change to our Privacy Policy, we will indicate on the Site that our privacy practices have changed and will provide a link to the new policy. In the event we make a material change to how we use your personal information, we will provide you with an opportunity to opt out of such new or different use.
